May 2010 – After many years of faithful service, two old three-metre shearing machines have been replaced by a 30-ton machine designed specially for De Boer Staal. The new shearing machine can cut sheet steel up to 3 metres wide and 20 mm thick.

February 2010 – De Boer Staal has supplied profiles and “rub rails”, fenders made from sheet steel, for the construction of an offshore ship. The ship will be used for inspection, maintenance and repair work on offshore installations, but also for hoisting and diving work in the Gulf of Mexico.

December 2009 – Within four months, the hull of an inland ship was transformed into the offshore accommodation ship “Verdi” for 320 people. Some of the accommodation was built in the hold; the modules with the cabins are located on deck. The ship is now moored in the Caspian Sea, where it provides shelter for the workforce from an oil platform. De Boer Staal supplied steel plating and Holland profiles, Grade A ship quality, for this vessel.

September 2009 – To make life on board the motor yacht as pleasant as possible, it has been fitted out with every conceivable convenience. There is a chopper pad, a swimming pool, a cinema and an entertainment area on board. De Boer Staal supplied 600 tons of steel plate and bulb flats (Grade A ship quality) for the hull of this 86-metre-long motor yacht.

July 2009 – After 23 years with De Boer Staal, Ruud Mouthaan took early retirement on 1 April.

April 2009 – The final touches are now being made to the Well Enhancer, a Well Intervention & Diving Support Vessel. This is a multi-functional vessel that can be used worldwide for maintenance work on underwater oil and gas wells down to depths of 600 metres. The vessel can be used to execute several types of job at the same time in the area of intervention, construction, inspection and maintenance. For this project, De Boer Staal supplied 2,000 tons of steel plating and Holland profiles, Grade A ship quality.

February 2009 – The Diving Support Vessel “Don Amado” was delivered in late December 2008. The ship is now on its way to Mexico, where it will be used for construction and maintenance work on offshore installations, and hoisting and diving work at sea. De Boer Staal supplied 2300 tons of steel plating and 400 tons of Holland profiles, Grade A ship quality, for the vessel.

December 2008 – Work is now in progress on the largest trailing suction hopper dredger ever built in the Netherlands: the Vox Dubai. The vessel is 200 metres long, 31 metres wide and 39 metres high. It has a hopper capacity of 31,200 m3. For this project, De Boer Staal supplied 13,000 tons of steel plating and 2,250 tons of (Holland) profiles, Grade A ship quality.

July 2008 – The 'Seven Atlantic' ship is currently under construction. De Boer Staal supplied 950 tons of steel plate and Holland profiles (Grade A ship quality) for this 'Diving Support / Offshore Construction Vessel'. This project has now been completed as far as De Boer Staal is concerned, but the shipyard and the shipping company still have a lot of work to do.

December 2007 – October 2007 – After a number of difficult years, Dutch shipbuilding is prospering again. The yacht construction market is also doing well. Orders for mega-yachts are pouring in. For the hull of a mega-yacht (construction number Y704) De Boer Staal has supplied approximately 600 tonnes of sheet steel and bulb flats. The Y704 is the largest yacht hull ever built in the Netherlands.
